Are you looking for a psychologist in Ontario, BC or Alberta? What about New Brunswick or Manitoba?
Finding a psychologist is not always the easiest task!
We’ve scoured the internet to compile a list of provincial/territorial directory listings of registered psychologists. While this is not an exhaustive list of all the registered psychologists in these locations, these listings can at least give you a head start on your search.
Some people prefer to find a psychologist who speaks the same language as them or focuses on treating a specific issue. Many of these directories allow you to search for registered psychologists with these different specifications. Keep in mind that you might be limited in the number of psychologists you can choose from if you pick several criteria, especially in smaller regions. Given the popularity of virtual therapy, many of these directories can also filter psychologists who offer virtual services if that is your preference.
We strongly recommend doing additional research into psychologists you are interested in potentially seeing. This can be done by reviewing their websites, reading their online posts/articles and even scheduling a complementary consultation call (many psychologists offer this) or contacting their office if you have questions. Wishing you the best of luck in finding a psychologist that meets your needs!

The College of Psychologists of Ontario also has a larger directory of all psychologists registered in Ontario, however this register also includes psychologists who are inactive/not currently working as a psychologist. So, if you choose to use this tool, make sure you select the option “Members Authorized to Provide Services” under Member Status.

While this search tool asks for the last name of the psychologist, leave that part blank if you don’t have a specific psychologist in mind (chances are you don’t!) and it will list the psychologists they have in their association that meets your criteria.
The College of Psychologists of New Brunswick has a Finding a Psychologist online tool. While most colleges have a register you can search, this tool also allows you to filter out psychologists who are not accepting new clients and specify if you want a psychologist who offers virtual services.

They also list the psychologists’ wait time for some of the practitioners!
Psychological Society of the Yukon Find a Psychologist directory. Unfortunately, according to information provided by this psychological society, psychological services are regulated in every other province and territory except the Yukon. The Psychological Society of the Yukon lists providers who are members of their association and either local or eligible to practice in another regulated jurisdiction in Canada. This is listing rather than a search tool.

You are also able to specific if you are looking for a specific psychological assessment to be done or search by keyword.

Search criteria includes: location, clientele demographics, therapy approaches (e.g., CBT), areas of practice, academic credentials, languages and includes an option to select psychologists who are wheelchair accessible! It has many other parameters you can specify (so many!), but doesn’t appear to include whether the psychologist offers virtual therapy unfortunately.
The Psychological Association of PEI has a private practice directory of psychologists listed on their website. While this isn’t a search tool, it is a downloadable pdf (15 pages at the time we checked!) that you can look through and see all kinds of details about their psychologist members, specifically the information the providers chose to provide.
Unfortunately, psychologist search tools/directories for Saskatchewan, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories could not be located, but here is a link to all the regulatory boards for psychologists in Canada.
